In this third interview, my conversation with Matt moves beyond individual transformation to the transformation of society. How can we begin to engage in the process of genuine social change? It begins, I submit, with the cultivation of our capacity to live in genuine relationship -- as our connections with each other provide the foundation upon which communities are built. Indeed, the quality of our relationships with each other will determine, more than any other factor, the strength and resilience of our communities. That is why, in this interview, I emphasize the importance of nurturing whatever capacities we may have to initiate and sustain conversations -- regular and ongoing -- that have meaning and uplift our hearts.
